It was in a generic, unmarked package. When I plug it into my PSP-1001, the orange light comes on, but was unable to power on the PSP for about an hour. The unit will not work off the charger (shut down after about 5 minutes). So I left it on the charger for 24 hours. After 48 hours, the battery still only showed 1 bar. To be sure it wasn't my battery, I tried my PSP on my friend's original SONY charger - that started charging fine, and was going much faster. I can only conclude that either the charger is defective, or not compatible with the PSP-1001. I didnt feel like spending full price on the Sony one, so I gave this a try. Works perfectly and is much cheaper than the sony brand. Ive had it for a few months and no problems whatsoever.
