The Newport Car Seat is side-impact tested to domestic and international standards. It is designed to keep your baby rear-facing longer as recommended by safety advocates. For added security, its Rebound Energy Management handle helps manage the rebound energy inside the car in the event of a crash.

The car seat is recommended for use from 5 to 35 pounds with the base (included). It can also be installed without the base for use up to 22 pounds.

Ideal for busy parents and caregivers, the adjustable harness does not need to be rethreaded as your baby grows. The five-point safety harness can be easily adjusted to provide a custom fit for your child. My sister lent me her graco snugride when I had my first and it worked fine, but I didn't like how flimsy it felt. This model was recommended to me by a neighbor who is a car seat technician. It is supposed to be one of the safest seats on the market. Some of the things I love about it: - the whole cover snaps off to wash in two seconds, and you DON'T HAVE TO RETHREAD THE STRAPS! - It seems heavier than my last car seat, but the quality is obviously much better, so I'm ok with that tradeoff - I like that you can use it without a base. I didn't want to buy an extra one since we rarely use the seat in my husband's car, but on the occasions that we do, it was very easy to snap into place with the seatbelt. Overall, we've been happy with this seat and would definitely recommend it! I love the stroller and since this car seat only works with their strollers I figured I better get it. I have not had a travel system before and am glad I splurged this time. It is easy to put it on the stroller and not to heavy. It comes with a black canopy which is cool since it works for girls or boys. We wanted a safe car seat and this has good ratings. It also looks a million times better than some of the other prints we looked at. I really like how the seat cushion can come off so I can wash it when it gets dirty. A definite plus is how you can dress up your car seat by purchasing the different visor colors. I also purchased the JJ Cole Broadway Stroller and love how I can snap the car seat into the stroller.
