Cliche but very true when it comes to Rez. Originally released on PS2 with a certain "mature" peripheral that we will cease to awknowledge;-) It truly was a one of a kind game on the PS2 that missed the mass marketing to bring to the attention of the masses. Re-released in HD truly shows the scope of this game and it longetivity. A "mind killing" soundtrack that borrows from trance music's gritty grimest beats courtesy of Adam Free Land on Area 5. An expirience for the senses. Worth your pennies, download the trial but be forewarned you will want the full game! Simply put: Awesome! I could end the review there but instead I'll try. Rez is the shooter sequel to Space Channel 5, wherin you navigate the inside of a Network as a polygonal avatar, destroying enemies in an attempt to bypass security and hack a sort of confused Master Control kind of program in a trippy philosophical 3D flying adventure. Oh, and the whole thing features graphics that look like tron and pulses to electronic music which changes because of the beats of firing your weapon. Sound crazy? It is. And oh-so-awesome. I've never found another person loved Space Channel 5 the way that I do (despite never being able to beat either the first or the second game in the series), but I have met a few people who liked Rez. Only one seemed to really REALLY enjoy it, but no one is as ga-ga over Rez as me. I love Panzer Dragoon, love Sky Gunner and Star Fox. I love shooters and 3D shooters (though I'm sometimes luke-warm and usually downright hostile...
